Prince William, Kate Settle in Windsor 'Forever Home

The Prince and Princess of Wales have reportedly settled into their new Windsor residence, Forest Lodge, with strong indications pointing towards a long-term stay. The move marks a fresh start for the royal couple and their children.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, accompanied by their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – relocated to the eight-bedroom Forest Lodge before Bonfire Night. This move from Adelaide Cottage is widely seen as a new beginning after past challenges.

A significant indicator of the royal couple's long-term intentions at their new residence in Windsor has emerged. Information obtained from a local online site reveals that there have been no house sales reported to the Land Registry in the postcode since January 1, 1995, spanning three decades. This unusual lack of transactions in an area with diverse housing types strongly suggests residents are keen to remain, highlighting the stability and desirability of the locality.

Despite Prince William and Princess Kate leasing the property from the Crown Estate rather than owning it, this extended period of residential consistency points towards a substantial commitment.

The Windsor and Maidenhead district, where Forest Lodge is situated, is lauded by its council as "one of the best places to live in the country." The council's website highlights abundant green spaces, safe streets, excellent facilities, strong local businesses, employment opportunities, and robust infrastructure and communities. While the council faces challenges regarding high average house prices, the area's overall appeal remains undisputed.

Royal correspondent Danielle Stacey, commenting on the family's contentment, stated that Prince William and Princess Kate "clearly love living in Windsor." She further noted that their children are well-settled at Lambrook School nearby, and the location offers convenient access to Windsor Castle for official functions. The spacious Forest Lodge is now widely regarded as their "forever home," providing ample room for the children to grow outside the confines of a palace.
