Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia Rematch Talks Spark Ahead of 2026
Devin Haney’s name is once again linked with Ryan Garcia, as speculation grows over a possible rematch between the two rivals in early 2026.
Haney (32-0, 15 KOs), the undefeated two-division champion, is currently focused on his upcoming challenge against WBO welterweight titleholder Brian Norman Jr. on November 22, 2025. The fight will mark Haney’s second outing at 147 pounds after he outclassed José Ramírez in his debut earlier this year. Norman enters the bout on the back of three consecutive stoppage wins, making it a tough test for “The Dream.”
While Haney’s immediate attention is on the welterweight crown, whispers of a reunion with Ryan Garcia refuse to die down. Their heated rivalry reached its peak last year, followed by doping controversies and legal disputes. For months, the idea of a rematch seemed unrealistic—until recent public gestures between the fighters reignited curiosity.
Footage of Haney and Garcia exchanging a friendly greeting surprised fans, given the bitterness of their past encounters. Garcia later fueled speculation with a post directly calling out Haney: “Round 2 @realdevinhaney.”
However, obstacles remain. Garcia’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya dismissed the idea earlier this year, saying a rematch had “no value.” Haney’s father and manager, Bill Haney, also questioned Garcia’s credibility as a contender. At the same time, Garcia is still recovering from hand surgery after his defeat to Rolando Romero.
Despite the skepticism, Haney himself has not shut the door. In a recent interview, he hinted that Garcia’s camp is exploring options for a second fight, possibly after warm-up bouts. For now, the boxing world will keep watching—split between Haney’s title ambitions at welterweight and the growing buzz of a rivalry that refuses to fade.
