Chloe Malle named editorial head at Vogue US
NEW YORK, September 2, 2025 — Fashion magazine Vogue has a
new face in its most important role. Publishing company Conde Nast has
announced that Chloe Malle has been named the new head of editorial content at
Vogue US. She replaces Anna Wintour, who stepped down in July.
Chloe Malle, 39, has been with Vogue for many years. She
joined the magazine in 2011 and has also served as editor of Vogue.com during
that time. She is also the co-host of the brand’s podcast The Run-through with
Vogue. In her new role, she will work with Anna Wintour to set the direction of
the magazine.
Chloe Malle said:
"Fashion and media are changing rapidly, and I am delighted to be part of this journey. I'm lucky to still have Anna Wintour supporting and mentoring me.
Anna Wintour, who led Vogue for more than 30 years, also
welcomed Malle's appointment. She said:
"Chloe has always proven that she can strike the
perfect balance between Vogue's history and its future."
Chloe Malle is a graduate of Brown University. In addition to writing for Marie Claire, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Architectural Digest, she started her career at the New York Observer. She is the
daughter of acclaimed actress Candice Bergen and French filmmaker Louis Malle.
Her notable tasks include overseeing Vogue's digital
newsletters, special editorial projects and capturing several major news
stories, including coverage of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding this
year.
For the first time, Vogue US has embraced a new editorial structure and abandoned the previous title of "editor-in-chief." This appointment is a historic change for the magazine.
